In July 2005, when on holiday in Snowdonia with my family, I happened upon an adorable five month old Tri Border Collie called Tess. After the loss of our much loved collie Bobby in the previous year, it didn't take much persuading from me for us to take her home. Tess settled in straight away and really enjoyed her obedience training; indeed she proved to be a fast learner (unlike me!). It was here that we had a few 'taster' sessions of agility with Robin and Kay and the rest is history!

The sense of community at Pads is wonderful; everyone is so friendly and supportive, with trainers who are willing to give you their all so that you and your dog can enjoy a fantastic working relationship.

Tess did really well during the first few years of competing, getting a 2nd place in Elementary Agility in one of her first shows.

Be prepared to become addicted very quickly and don't be surprised if you end up buying a tent or maybe even a caravan for those action-packed weekends at shows!

Unfortunately, after a prolonged period of lameness, Tess was diagnosed with Hip Dysplasia (a hereditary disease), a few years ago and so can no longer compete in full height courses. However, she still loves to train and everyone at Pads has helped us to continue enjoying agility safely. In fact, training has kept Tess healthy and strong both physically and mentally.

Pads is a club that is welcoming and inspiring; I am totally hooked and you will be too!
