I've been around dogs all my life. When we were kids my parents bred Border Terriers but I was with Border Collies a great deal on my uncle's farm. After leaving school I was a veterinary assistant and I've worked in kennels and owned my own dog trimming business, but I never believed I would share my life with a Border Collie, (since they are very much a working breed), never mind two of them.
Anyway, five years ago this December, after much planning, Mac came into our lives. We moved to Stafford three and a half years ago and I began my search for an agility club. We found Pads through word of mouth.
It was fun right from the start. (Mac of course totally agrees!) We began competing about two and a half years ago. Pads Agility balances very well the members that just want to connect with their dogs once or twice a week for the sheer fun of it and also Pat, Andy, Dave, Robin and Kay are very supportive and encouraging of those who want to compete. Mac has done really well this year - although I know sometimes he wishes he had a better handler!
Ben came into our lives eighteen months ago after an unfortunate start in life. Thanks to the support of all of the trainers from the club, he's starting to get the agility bug too... so watch this space...
