I came across agility quite by chance when I took my first collie, Bod, to obedience classes. My original plan was to compete in sheepdog trialling but we never got that far! Safe to say that both of us took to agility from the start and Bod was something of a natural. He won us out of starters with our very first clear round in 1993, before going on to compete successfully at senior level and qualify for numerous finals.
I am finishing 2009, working mother and daughter, Boo and Rush, in Grade 6 having had another successful year. I've also been a prolific judge over the past decade of so. In that time I have judged qualifying heats for virtually every agility competition going and have been privileged to be asked to judge at the Royal Show (KC Olympia semi's) in July 2007 and the Pedigree Highland final in July 2008.
As one of the team taking training at Pads, I am hoping that some of my experience and enthusiasm can help our members to take part in and enjoy agility as much as I have over the years.
Away from agility, Wendy and myself are specialist cheese makers on our family farm. I am also a working musician playing bass guitar in rock band, Tara's Secret.
